Right on. How long was the turnaround? I can't wait until I send mine out, but I am trying to find a used one for a backup (so I can get around when mine is out/just in case of it not passing emissions).

I installed mine today as well

It is awesome, it pulls really hard, and it revs faster too. I will do a little more testing tonight.

few questions

3 questions.....

1. Can the ECU be installed on an Auto?
2. Can the ECU be installed along with dons VB Mod?
3. How much is it for a 97 max?

I think the first two questions can be answered from maximadan96's post. The answer to both is "yes"! I believe that someone with a 97 Max was running a 96 UPRD ECU, but I don't think you can modify a 97 ECU, not yet anyway.

Now go get some numbers at the track, I'm interested to see how much this might help in the 1/4. Man you guys are making me jealous... I want one for the 97.

eh. i think it might be a bit faster for the 95/96 users..

but yeah. i think a Max running 15.1s will definately get into mid 14s with the ecu if it was like a 96 5 speed.
i'll be taking my car to Carlsbad once the repairs been done...

but for that guy coparing NOS (40 shot) to the ecu? that's just nuts.

ecu can only do so much. eh. whatevers.

I just spoke with Robert, the deal is now CLOSED. no more orders.

for those who are on the list, Robert will be on vacation all next week, so all the ecus that want to be done within the week need to be sent in....

also, UPRD, as we all know, is undergoing severe management reconstructions, so. than means they might be moving to Torrance, CA, and moving means:

BIG *** SALE.

i'll post details up soon,
but if you thinking what i'm thinking,
oh yea baby.

Super AFCs?! APEXI Gauges?! you name it. prolly some nice discounts...

but, none the less, if any of you have ideas for potential APEXi Group deals, let me know via Email, and i'll see what i can set up with Rob ...

I'm prolly gonna setup the S-AFC deal so maybe David B can get one for cheap, and have a chance of proving me wrong about the potential gains of the ECU vs SuperAFC.....

ok. im outie.

so bored with out the max. *Sigh*

Alright Ricers, take your damn UPRD Max's to the track and see what they can do Many of us "doubters" are itching to see what the true gains are at the track. A gain of 20 flywheel hp would equate to about a .4 drop in et and a gain of 2-3mph in a MAxima. I'm expecting to see some lightly modded UPRD auto Max's in the 14s and the 5 speeds in the mid 14s or atleast trap speeds in the high 90mph range.

Cheston-
Mid 14s with a UPRD ecu 5 speed? I hoping to do that this Sunday with my only additional mods of new struts, new rims and tires, and a Poorman's CAI Seriously though, I'm glad your wreck was only minor on you and your car. Keep us posted about the S-AFC. I'll be dynoing the Poorman's CAI vs my HKS intake this Saturday.

Ok. first off,
1. STOP using Ricer as a term. then, i might respect you.
2. I will take my damn UPRD ecu to the track, Road track. i have nothing to prove in 1/4 mile..
3. Mid 14s in a UPRD ecu 5 speed is possible. and i'll show you one. just ask one of the 30 some buyers to attempt it, and heck, i'll even help prep Nabil's 96 monster

but heck, lemme tell u something Dave--
Quarter Mile means **** to me. Means as much as you and your "poorman's" CAI. I could care less about running the quarter mile. Why? because running a 14-something second quarter mile is pretty lame, considering those who compete in quarter mile runs are usually high-powered Turbo/SC'd cars other than a 4 door. (but hell. Don's the man. 12s max! woo hoo!)

The more money you got, the faster your car is on the quarter.

You go ahead, with your big "14.91" tatooed to your head, and have fun with your Max. hey. more power to you.

I'm just as happy with my UPRD ecu as i am with the next guy that has it. I spent the time with programmer and the guys that set it up, so i really have nothing to prove to myself, because i've seen the results since Sept.... but yeah some people who are clearly blind, clearly so thick-headed, and clearly biased at matters that they clearly just don't understand, are those who Whine, *****, and cry about us proving it.

Hey. hell. i'll get you an AFC cheap so you can do your mods to your fuel/air ratio, and you'll see how big of mistake you made when you said you can make the same gains.. ahhaah.

oh boy. it'll be hilarious. well. hey. really. more power to you. you got the drive, so, go for fastest NA maxima. really.

because i'm not
and i'm pretty sure those who are buying this ecu aren't going for the title either..

Don might be the reign, but he's squeezing..

Damn Cheston, that was kinda harsh. Anyways, I too don't consider 14 second cars extremely "quick" because my prior experience is with late model NA V8s that are running 12s and 13s (which still isn't extremely quick). The quickest and fastest 1/4 mile cars AREN'T turbo'd and SC'd. The quickest 1/4 mile cars are straight NA V8s. Do you know who John Force is? I'm sorry that 1/4 mile times are meaningless to you, BUT in the U S of A, any true gearhead will tell you a 1/4 mile time is the benchmark of how hard a car can accelerate. I guess I'm a gearhead. 1/4 mile times mean everything to me and I could care less about autocross. Autocross involves much more skill where as power dictates 1/4 mile followed by skill. Even if you're a crappy driver and your et sucks, your trap speeds are a good indication of the power your car is producing since trap speed varies little. Since you feel so strongly that the UPRD ECU makes "mad" gains, the results should be easily seen at the 1/4 mile track. You haven't "proved" the UPRD ECU does what you say it does. I already called you out on the fact that you were comparing two completely differently dynos when you quoted your "18hp" gain.

As for the S-AFC, I gonna wait until I dyno this weekend. I have a feeling the car is running a better fuel program with the Poor Man's CAI and has better topend power (ie it pulls to 6200 rpms quite easily).

BTW, I'll use Ricer whenever I want. It is not a racial slur. There are as many white, black, hispanic ricers as there are asian. "Ricer" is a mentality and not race related as you believe. I said "ricers" in my post above because they go by butt dynos and "feel" when determining gains. In the world of car modification, losses in power are noted as gains (ie the MAF screen removal, HKS muffler, aftermarket ignitions).
