My car will not start. I turn the key and it doesnt turn over. I replaced the starter a few months ago. My headlights and stereo work. It has been kind of iffy for the last week or so but now will not start at all. Last week, I had the same problem and was able to jump it. Now, jumping doesnt work at all. Im I correct in assuming it is the alternator? Thanks

 

Keep this in mind, just because you replace the starter (altenator, ac compresor, p/s pump, etc) a few months ago doesn't mean it can't be bad today. When our original components go bad and we buy the replacement parts from the parts store that's just like rolling the dice. Sometimes you get lucky sometimes you don't. It's hard for us to diagnose your car over the internet becasue there's so many points that has to be check in a starting system. But it's a good possibility that your starter could be bad due the the fact that jumping your car doesn't help. But it could also be a bad ground or positive cable. Who knows.
