the only red one i've seen was custom done...so, did nissan stop doing that thing where they mark the last production years of a generation by painting some of them red? i don't think i've seen a stock (like fire engine or cherry) red 5th gen. any know anything about this? did they simply just stop that altogether? forgive me if this has been discussed or is a dumb thread. i don't make it over to the 5th gen forum enough, but did search and didn't really come up with anything.

They should have skipped red for the 4th gen, and made a red 5th gen

 

If I am not mistaken, bright red nissans have always been pretty rare. . the Red SE-Limited Maxima, the Red SE-Limited 2nd Generation Altima, and the 1st Generation Altima only came in red in extremely limited numbers. There were few Red Pathfinders too. I always liked Nissan's red cars, I think the Crimson Blaze is hands down the best factory color for the Maxima, its ashame that they discontinued it for 2000 and up. Perhaps they didnt sell any red maximas because they were too flashy for the buyers of the Maxima, whatever the reason, I sure as hell would buy a Red Maxima over any other factory color.
