ok...The spring rotates when I turn the wheel. This is the source of the noise. It's not seating correctly on the top for some reason. I took it apart and put it back on to the car again. It's still doing the same thing. and it's not the strut bearing that's causing the problem. Now this got me wonder. What part of the coil suppose to be on top and what part of the coil suppose to be on the bottom?
Here's a picture. Can someone tell which side suppose to be up and which side suppose to be down.

From FSM, the smaller gap side should go on the bottom, but ->
On the Sprint installation sheet. It said the smaller gap is on the top. Now, I'm really confused.

Too the best of my knowledge the FSM way is the right way.. just try it tommorow the FSM way and see if it makes a diff..

wait a sec.. did you install the other side the same way? if so why doesn't it make noise on the other side? now that is strange.. make sure they are both installed that way

I did install the other side the same way and it's not making the noise on the side. That's why I don't understand it. Another thing...For a short time, the clunking noise reduced to a groin. I'm just going to drive it, maybe somehow the rubber upper isolator will seat the new spring better. If the noise persist, I'll seek professional help =) I never like suspension work. PITA.
