Am I just getting defective starters? or is something wrong with my car? Here it goes...
My original starter was dying, it would not do anything and I had to put the key in the on position and then try and start it around 10x but sometimes it would fire right up, so I yanked it and took it in as a core and bought a new starter. I installed it and about 1 week later it was doing the same thing as my original, not turning over, just *click* and you keep trying to start and it would eventually do it. So I take it back and tell them I have a defective starter, she says "well for it to go out that fast there must be something wrong with your car, I will replace it this time, but next time you are on your own".
Update(2 months later): Yesterday I go to get in my car and it starts to turn over then stops and the starter start buzzing REALLY LOUD. I pop the hood and disconnect the battery to shut it up, I then pull the starter fuse and it is good, so I leave it out thinking it would shut it up, I plug the battery back in and it is still buzzing and not doing anything but stinking, so I disconnected the cable from the starter and pushed started it. On my way home I lose ALL power and the car is off, I pop the hood and the battery is arcing, what happened is the starter cable stuck to the side of the starter and was arcing the battery, it then caught fire! I immediately threw my hands and jacket on the battery to stop it. The post is a little shrunken. I had it towed off the freeway to my work, then tonight I plugged the starter back in and it does nothing it is officially dead. I push started it and drove it 50 miles home.
Now after the long reading, what would you do if it were your car?
It was swapped to a 5 speed by a shop and they had a full donor car with wiring harness and everything, what do I do?

Take the car back to the place that did the tranny swap and tell them you have an electrical issue.

Go over all the wires yourself then. Make sure everything is properly connected and there are no bare wires. Also make sure your grounding cables are on and have good solid connections. Follow the cables from the battery, they will lead to your starter which is where your having problems.
