My first race

Hey,
Just had my first race today since I got my Max.
Raced a 3.2TL for a bit, seemed like I had him from the start. In the first gear and most of second we were even, then I started to pull away.
Never raced a 3.2TL or anything in that class before, so I don't know if he was letting me go or if he was just a bad driver.
Even if he was playing with me, I am still proud of how my Max performed!
You guys have any thoughts about this?
