Auterra owners - question 4U

I can't get fast sampling to work on my 97. Slow sampling works and I get live readings just fine. But this means I can't use any of the dyno features.

Is anybody else having this problem?

Interesting I've used it on my ranger but I did try it on a friends spec V and I did get enough samples for a pull. However I couldn't get readings in his 2nd gear because I didn't get enough samples. I recommend that you do your dyno runs in 3rd gear if 5spd or 2nd gear if auto.

Auterra tech support just responded to the datalog I sent them.

"Yes, your vehicle cannot handle fast sampling. Apparently your computer can handle the faster communication and is rejecting messages. Turn off fast sampling.

We've seen this very infrequently since most vehicles can keep up.

The HP Torque screen will not work very well since the communication is too slow. However the acceleration screen should work just fine since the sampling speed is less critical."

So I guess I can do a 3rd gear acceleration run only and everything else is null. This was with a 96 TS programmed ECU btw. I'll try my OEM 97 again ASAP.

Hmm...well fast sampling "works" on my 99, as long as you consider 1 update every 5 or 6 seconds "working", though. Translation: useless I turn it "off" and then it works a ton faster.

So I guess fast-sampling works on mine, but there are definitely problems with it since it's a ton faster with that turned off. Yeah, if the dyno/acceleration modes require fast sampling to be on, then 1st or 2nd gear runs would be pretty useless since it wouldn't have nearly enough resolution.

BEJAY - I think yours is probably working similar to mine then.
