Ok, here is the deal. I got a "newer" water pump from a fellow member, and upon installation, I looked over the water pump. Directly under the fins, there appears to be a seal there. It feels like it is a peragrey type seal, maybe not, I don't know. It is jagged and unevenly sticking out the "shaft" under the fins of the pump.

I looked over my old water pump, the one leaking fluid, and it either doesn't even have this seal, or it is still in tact inside the actual pump. Anyone have an idea?

I am sorry man, guess you don't have to remove the engine to change it. I think that is a seal

So are you asking if there should be a seal there?

go to a dealership and ask if they have one and compare the 2. If they look the same walk away with out buying it.
