i feel sorry for those who mods maxima without knowing maxima.org...anyone with me???

today i happened to spot a modded maxima in my neighborhood. i chased him down and had a quick talk with him. he's got a 1995 superblack SE with clear corners, skyline converted altezzas, 18s, lowered, and big muffler. from what i observed after talking to him appearently he doesn't know too much about his car at all, because:

1. eibach "coilovers" sittin on stock SE shocks with 1 rear blown. no other suspension mod.
2. magnaflow muffler with b-pipe hanging, nice and loud fart. no other performance mod.
3. 18 rims that looks like a fake chrome, somewhat hubcap sty-o
4. some kumho tires, definetly not 711 or 712s.
5. bought some 9004 generic halogen headlight for $100. asked me where i got my KOBAs, i told them on ebay.
6. painted his interior red that looks kinda cheap

no he doesn't know about maxima.org. probably doesn't know too much about maintance as well. i really encourage people to spread the words about maxima.org community so people can learn about their car. and definetly we don't want to see riced out maximas on the streets as well.

Apparently while I was at lunch someone came in with a really "sweet" third gen. People were trying to find me because my entire company knows of my obsession. Too bad I couldn't have been there to talk to the guy, his car sounded cool..

More people need to know about the .org so they can sign up and get flamed for being noobs!

I try to 'share the love' where I can. But it's "real in da field, yo!!" Lots of people just don't have the 'passion' we have for our vehicles - whether they be Maximas, or ANY car for that matter.

I can't tell you HOW MANY people I used to see with hella riced-out Berettas (when I used to own one), and didn't have a CLUE WTF was a beretta.net. Or WTF was a computer, for that matter.

Clueless, I tell ya...

Moral of these, and other stories, is "each one, teach one".

There is a guy in my neighborhood with either an '02 or '03 SE with a few mods, but I haven't spoken with him to see if he knows about the org. From what I can tell, his car is lowered with some 18" wheels (not sure which model). He also has a Brembo brake kit installed. No tint, clears or anything else other than those items, but like I said, I haven't spoken with him and the car seems like it is always moving when I've seen it. I know he's got the Brembo kit because I saw his car at Subway and I drove by and could see the Brembo lettering on the calipers. One of these days I'll have to just drive over to his house (3 blocks from mine) and say hello.

Merry Christmas

I show love to all Maxima owners and tell them about Maxima.org and tell them about Maxima mods.. it's amazing after being on here for a while how much you "know" when a guy asks you questions about the Maxima and what can be done performance wise or any other mod..when I see hooked-up cars I try to talk to them no matter if it's a Honda, Acura, Truck, Bike what ever I have a passion for this stuff...guys at my job tell me of cars or refer people to me....and in my town people, come by my house daily to see my ride and ask questions and order parts for me to install on their rides later on...it's just the love of the game.. cars in general...people ask, man where do you get your stuff from and your ideas?.....I tell them the internet If it weren’t for the net I would not be as deep in as I am.. haha but it’s cool...if you are into cars and not online you are not in................

one love modding cars.................................

I'm with you...I pass several maximas the same ones every day on the way to work. Apparently we travel the same roads........over the past few months...I have never gotten to speak with one of them...but both cars.........where stock looking other than rims before. Next thing I know they both have shaved their trunks and have clear corners like me. Its such a trip........they still wave and stare when I go by.

sometimes it s the Maximas(or drivers/cars in general) who don't go to these sites that have the most unique and/or powerful cars cause they aren't following the norm like many of the guys on here. you can only take Evo 5s and a Stillen kit but so many times! (no offense to guys rocking those, just an example )

but having those riced out ones out there make ours' better!!

but i still tell people all the time. some of them look at me like i'm crazy and i have to practically spell it out for them and explain it thoroughly. we should bring back those maxima.org card things that they had a while back.

I usually try to spread any word about the all knowing ORG. I even tell people who don't drive Maxima's but drive a Nissan car. I really am a true beliver in the car I snicker when people often scoff at my maxima but don't know it's true potential....bastards! But nonetheless...one time when I was awlking through a parking lot I noticed a "modded max" and quickly jotted down "www.maxima.org" on a piece of paper and left it on his wiperblade. Hope I helped, who nows but you gotta help anyone out especially the dirties I got in town.

coming outside from my bank i saw a black 95-96 max auto with rims and decals and i thought he may be from the org, and he wasnt. i told him about it and said how he can save a lot and learn a lot. I used to be one of the fools that modded without the org and paid severely in everyway. now that i know of the org, still spending like a fool but feel better about it

Another way to spread the word is to buy some maxima.org decals and some people like myself always take time to see what the decal says. I saw a 3rd gen with a maxima.org decal like a week after I got my max and right before I started to spend money on my max. I am thankful for that max because I saved money and learned a lot. I will pass the word to other max enthusiasts!!

you gotta understand that some max owners know jack **** about computers.
But I would never feel sorry for others just because they're missing out on certain opportunities.. I am pretty sure that some members here have spent more money due to other member's mods and want the same thing.

I love to see 5th gens walk into the local Nissan dealer, pay 195 for a Stillen intake, as the sales guy tells him, he will gain 30 hp, and he pays 1.5 hours for install....what a retard. This same fool , orders a Cattman catback for $725, and will pay 150-200 for them to install it for him. Makes you want to go get a crowbar and beat him with it for being so stupid !

At my dealership the other day there was a black 2k2 or 2k3, this guy had his headlights ripped out but that wasn't what caught my attention, he had a bunch of z3 style fins all over his car.

One on each front panel, 4 on the hood!! and two more in the back bumper right below the rear quarter panel. He also had some weird looking chrome outlining around his trunk. It was horrible, if he knew about the .org it would've been flame time. Oh it was a 6spd too.

I always speak about the ORG to other Owners that i see on my 2 other club of montreal!!

It's incredible what you can learn!

Let just say that it's not everyone that want to modds their beast, or know thing, a lot of them ask what you think of that or that and you help them at the best of your knowledge

Heck, just on maintenance costs ALONE, I saved a ton! I shudder to think how bad the STEALership would've bent me over to replace stuff like my injectors or knock sensor when, just from info I found here, I was able to do that and a lot more MYSELF

I agree with what was said, I dont see how you can be a smart enthusiast without at least reading the forums, and the threads that pertains to what you want to do. When I had my Altima, I was on altimas.net (have alot of posts under my name there too), and with my bike; sportbikes.net . . . I learned so much about cars (specifically Altimas and Maximas) through the forums.

yea my first maxima website was actually www.maximaforum.com (moderated by luke, aka gtr_rider). i didn't know about this site until later. believe it or not, my first post was asking about apexi s-afc. i have no idea why i asked that before basic bolt-ons.
