sticky accelerator

can i just spray intake cleaner on the throttle cable? It doesn't stick when the car is actually moving but rather when i'm at a stop light... (sometimes) i would have to apply more pressure than necessary to get it goin.

thanks

you could have 2 or more problems.... one, your linkage could be sticky... and cleaning and lubricating will help that. two... your TB plate could be sticking on carbon deposits... which is what i bet it is. try spraying TB cleaning into your intake manifold and wiping it out... or if you feel like it... take your TB off and clean it ... this will allow you to do a better job if you are up to it.

Had this same problem. I cleaned the TB when I got my starter motor fixed, and now it works smoothly again. There's a link in one of the stickies on the 4th gen forum on how to clean it
