1MAX2NV...q on irdium plugs

I went to the shop that has them. He looked in the manual and gave me the IK16. I have a '97. He said the 97 take the IK20, and the 98 and 99 get he IK16. He also said the IK20 burn at a higher temp. Which one do I take? I thought the 98 and 99 have the same motor, but then why would they give 2 models of plugs.

In all, I would not go any hotter than what the car came with. If you drive hard or have a lot of heavy mods, I would even consider something a 1 heat range down.

Ok what i know is completely different ->
I called up Denso to find out exactly what plugs we should run for our cars. The guy told me we should be running IK 16 for stock max's. I told the guy i was running 8 pounds of boost and he told me to go a step cooler and run IK 20 plugs
I was a little unsure about that so the next day i called up again and got a different service tech and he told me the same thing go with the IK 20's if your running boost. He also said the more bolts-ons you have on your car the more gains you will see from these plugs. He said NA (stock maxima) will not see much of gain with these plugs. So go figure!!!

IK16 is the exact cross referance for the NGK5PF. That's what my factory manual says. Call your local nissan and find out which NGK model your car 1997 takes. If it's NGK5PF or NGK6PF. If it's the 6, you need IK20. If it's the 5 you need IK16. Good luck

ah....
Ok, I called 2 dealers, and they gave me 2 different model numbers. 1st said the model number is PFR6G. 2nd said the model number is PFR5G11. Now I'm totall confused. I think I'll just get the IK16. The 2nd place I called sound like he knew what he was talking about.
