Silverstars
Hi,
I bought a pair of siverstars just before xmas, anticipating my test-drive via 81N to Canada.
well, on 23rd, at 6pm, I set off from Baltimore via 83N to 81N through PA to Buffalo and Canada, arriving in Toronto at 3am.
It was pitch dark all night, and the silverstars guided me through the mountaneous dark I-81 roads. I was impressed with its white output, and its ability to illuminate the road several metres ahead. I even tested it during the brief showers, and it still held its output.
I have a 91 GXE, hence this is a vast improvement over the stock.
For those in doubt, try it.
thanks for all the recommendations.

SILVERSTARS are NOT worth $40, or whatever they sell for. They are worth $15 at most just like every other bulb out there. Get a set of white bulbs off ebay and they will be just as good as the SS. In the rain they are UTTER CRAP, also like all the other bulbs.

blah, how the hell are they worth only 15 bucks?! sylvania is a reputable company that makes many different lighting products. i myself have used the silverstars for the past 2-3 years and am very happy with them.

They don't seem to be worthmore than other bulbs. I had SS for almost 3 years. When one burned out I just got some KOBA bulbs from ebay. They have the slightest hint of blue and are almost IDENTICAL to SS.

I took mine out after only a week. Worst bulb I ever tried, the color looks great on the car, but they don't do squat on the road.
The best stock bulb (55W) is by far the Sylvania Cool Blues. They have a nice clean look to them and throw a nice wide visible beam on the road.

I bought SS and when installed one was a different color then the other! I wrote to them and they sent me a replacement + an extra one which is good b/c they are expensive.
Other than that my experience has been great. They look great and are a huge improvment over stock.
