Light Steering wheel in high speeds

I remember I was going arround 85-90 in my maxima the other night and I could feel the wheel getting really light. Was it because the wind is pushing my front up? Maybe its time to invest in a new spoiler???? Whats everyones take/expierences?

If you got a bigger spoiler it would actually make your front end "lighter" at high speeds. Just immagine pushing down on the back end, the movement is transfered around the rear axle and the front end is pushed up. Not much force in real life I would immagine, but none the less it will increase the sensation you have. The rice boys don't think about that when they put the multi-level bleacher seating style spoilers on their cars.

A spoiler on the front end of a front wheel drive car would increase traction at the front wheels where its needed most. Which is what a front lip spoiler should do, other than look nice.

Every car I've driven tends to get "floaty" at high speeds. I'm not sure if its some aerodynamic effect on the front end or not. My 2k4 doesn't get that way untill about 120mph+.

CM.

it's 'normal'. any wind over 3mph and you will feel it like crazy. sometimes i could swear i blew a tire. it will grow on you maybe. happens on those long invisible road dips as well. basically there are a few degrees in which the wheel really wants to move in the above conditions and it feels like there is freeplay. but it's not, just the nature of the car.

i've pretty much gotten used to the car wanting to drive itself and it's not bad once you expect it. actually at 100+ it's more stable than at 80. my opinion anyway.
