need some advice on bleeding my clutch... i followed the Haynes man. instructions, and it seemed liked it worked. but when i went for a test drive... the pedal became softer and softer... and then i wasn't able to engauge/disengauge the clutch w/o a lot of effort.

and if anyone knows how to adjust the pedal height/ (taking freeplay out of clutch)... again, i used the manual instruction, but i couldn't get any tool i had up there to adjust the pushrod.... any advice? thanks in advance.

That's probably because Haynes doesn't have the room to cover all the little details like the Nissan service manual does.

I don't know. I bought the FSM for my 95 KingCab from Dyment Distribution Services for $73 in 1997. At the time, the manual for a 95 Max cost $93. You might be able to find somebody selling one on eBay if you're lucky.

Yeah, we couldn't find the FSM, I think it's sitting in the bottom of a closet or something. But we re-bleed the slave cylinder and did the upper this time too. Everything feels good. I love ATE super blue

Is there an advantage to do this to a newer car (02 with 25k), or is this for more milaged cars, or just newly changed clutches? Basically, would I benefit from this?

basically you just need to do this if you get air in the system, if the clutch fluid gets dirty, or you just want to firm up your pedal.

I just did this to my car a few hours ago because evidently i was out of fluid

Its gotta alittle bit of play but it feels almost back to normal. I'll go play with it some more once it gets above 6 degree out..
