Couple maxima questions

Im gonna be buying my first car in a couple months and i think i have narrowed it down to a maxima. Especially after driving my dads new 2004 SE. What i was wondering is, what are some general things to look over on the Maxima when buying it used? From the prices ive seen im most likely going to get a 4g manual if possible. Also what's the differences between the GLE, GXE, and SE?

TIA

Check the FAQ's in the 4th gen forum. The basic things to look for would be rust of course and accident repair. Also, GLE=The Luxurious One, SE=Sporty One GXE=Basic One. All models have the exact same engine/tunning so you don't have to worry about porformance differences.

Actually the GLE suspension is very smooth comapred to my SE. Not bouncy or anything, just not as rough.

most important thing is to run a carfax to see if vehicle has been in an accident, had been a lemon, etc. www.carfax.com

look it over with a fine tooth comb. if its a dealer, make sure all current recalls have been performed. If it's a private party, ask the owner for repair receipts (if any) that have been done on the car.

CARFAX isn't accurate people. Your insurance provider will give you this info for free, the whole history of your car. I used CARFAX to review 50+ cars, kept getting warnings not to use this for a bussiness. Got my car, clear of accidents, just to find out from my insurance it was in an accident the year before.
