Just changed my spark plugs today (just got a NX 75 shot) and they look white (lean), but all I got is intake and ypipe. My car been running lean all along?

the white is caused by excessive heat from lean running conditions

You shoud be OK. Maybe a little on the lean side. Are these copper plugs? Just make sure after running your 75 shot a couple of times to check again on your new plugs.

Only 1 or 2 of mine looked like that on a 50 shot and the rest were fat (rich). And that was on platinums. I've been spraying 75 shot since and no trouble.

The local nitrous pro took a look at them and told me I was fine. Just keep an eye on your fuel pressure. You shouldn't have any problems on 75 shot.

stock platinum spark plugs should be fine for nitrous application, but u should go 1 step colder.

I just use nitrous for the first time today (1 step colder copper plugs just put in today)

these pics are from the platinum plugs (last 25k miles are so without the use of nitrous) just a little worry about running lean while being N/A

Nitrous is pretty fun (even without a bottle heater in 40 degree weather) punch the gas @ 15mph and totally losing traction in your auto is priceless. Just wait until I get a bottle warmer next week

do it right and hook it up so it can't get power when the car is off, so you don't go BOOM.

A little bit of white on the ground strap like that is ok. If it went much higher (or was solid white) then I'd adjust the fuel.

Guys, please don't use platinum plugs for nitrous you are just asking for trouble.

This is from the NX Installation Instructions Power Tuning Tips.

"In stock engine applications and street usage the spark plugs should be at least 2 steps colder than stock. Do not use platinum tip, extended tip or any plug with mutiple ground straps or split ground straps."

Don't say I didn't warn you. Just because some guys get away with it don't mean you will, it playing with fire.

Most of the real fast guys (ie faster than 10 sec) have their fuel and nitrous in the cabin (ie Chris Rado) so I just followed their example, its NHRA approved.

This is what it looks like usually, even at the track, I can read the gauge and open the bottle from the drivers seat with the cover on.
