Those that have license plates on the front

My state requires license plates on the front and back but I got my car from FL that only requires rear (I'm assuming?) So I've been just jamming the plate in the upper right corner of the dash right up to the windshield inside. Is this alright legally?

Are there any alternatives besides putting 2 holes in the bumber for the plate? Anything more permanent than what I'm doing?

Yes, it is legal as long as it's seen through the windshield. You can get the stock plate holder, which does not require any holes in the bumper. I took mine off and there's no holes.

In Washington State, it is NOT legal to have your plate in the windshield. You must have it at the front of your vehicle, more than one foot, but less then four feet from the ground.

I just put a new 97-99 bumper on my car and I have no license plate in the front. What I'm gonna do is fold it and shove it in the bottom air dam

not legal to have it in the windshield in new york. I leave mine there anyway. front plate mounts are ugly.

99% of the time, a cop won't stop you for a front plate violation, but if you're stopped for anything else, he'll tack it on there as well. I got a parking ticket last week, and ended up paying an extra $30 because I had "no mounted front plate".

Yea front plate is ugly, took it off today, stuck it behind my windshield, makes the front end look 10x better.

in TX to have your front license plate on the dash is illegal. By state law you have to have that sucker on the front bumper. I've gotten a ticket already for that, better look.

I'm in Washington aswell, i dont have one on the front of my car because I was taking pictures awhile ago and just haven't put it back on yet, lol.

On my mustang, I am 110% legal only having a license plate on the rear. Plus I dont have any tabs on it, all 110% legal

LA is straight up cool with whatever but to be safe, id have it upon front. yeah it does look cool without one, but would you rather have a ticket or a simple license plate on your front bumper...

I leave mine in the front since most of the people around me can't parallel park and I rather have them hit my plate than scratch up my bumper

HI requires a front plate too.. i took mine off a long time ago . some people put it in their window but that looks corny too. i got mine in the trunk with the spare tire. ill eat a ticket for the better look. cops never mess with me generally. i did get a ticket for it about a year and a half ago.. other wise no problem.

i hate it up front but it is required here in mass. mine covers up a nice scratch i realized so i plan on leaving it. once i can either afford to get new repainted bumpers, or someone hits my car and they'll be covered by insurance to be touched up or replaced, i plan on not putting the plates not on until i get **** from it. and then i'll just have the receipt of body work handy and hope and pray it gets me off with a fix it.

In VA, as well as DC & MD, you gotta have a front plate...to add to that pain in da a$$, all three jurisdictions can ticket you for not having one regardless of whether or not you live outside of the area where you're being ticketed. I learned that bull$hit the hard way after cussing out a parking enforcement officer....cost me $50! The g0ddamn meter maids/men can ticket you for this stupid sh*t.

Plus, I've gotten too close to garage doors twice & had the front plate holder ripped off when the door came up...so this is my third front plate holder ($25/each).

sux ballz...

It's a good tool to use if you really need to make a stop on a vehicle. WSP tends to use it too much though.

As for Spokane's finest....I'm not going to comment as I have a different perspective on it than you do.

There's only a select few who share the same perspective as I do.....those who are with me everytime I get pulled over.

hehe, "public service rep".....nice, Sniper...
My "occupation" in my profile is equally "vague"...interestingly enough, the acronym for my department at my work is "S.N.I.P.E.R."

Being vague us fun.

It comes in handy sometimes...people sometimes don't listen to what you're trying to say if they think they know something about you.
