How can I make the crappy interior rattle less?

I am tired of how cheaply maximas are made, i have 95 and it rattles everytime i go over bump and being in NYC, its unavoidable to go over potholes and bumps. Especially the dashboard. Is there anyway i can tighten these things up? I have installed my own indiglow's so i know how to open the dashboard but i dont belive i saw any bolts to tighten the whole things down. Let me know if anyone knows how to make it rattle less. BTW i have 95 GLE.

<--- hates the rattles also.

If you had the time you could probably install rubber lining all throughout the creases of the dash, put a small rubber gromet between each screw in the dashboard, dynamat the doors. . . .

spray WD-40 right under the windshield - it's been quiet for over 6 months now !!!

stuff rags behind A-pillars and 25 cent coins between door and upholstery -it gets the rattle in door right out.

it takes time and patience but eventually your interior will be nice , quiet and ratlle free.

also stock springs/suspension helps too.

Nick.

I've read from previous posts that the warpspeed subframe connectors reduce alot of the rattles. I really dont know though, I dont have them nor have I driven in a max that has them.

all cars get louder as they get old. ever noticed when you get into a new car it's so quiet? all the seals, rubber, pins, planstic is all new and in good condition. now its old and things have gotten loose. what nice said is basically right.

to stop it all replace all the door seals and dynomat everything you can. dynomating a car adds over 150lbs+.

I have the same issues. I dislike as much as you but I am slowly dealing with it. Dynamating the doors helps a little. Now, I have to deal with a jacked front right suspension. Loose suspension doesn't help inerior rattles much. Then I'm gonna try the WD thing. I have already replaced door sills and that helped slightly. Its a constant battle because as you improve one area another gets loose.

really annoys the hell out of me...But thanks to Don of Unexpected Creations
he was able to eliminate that with his awesome expertise in Car Audio.
With a really good system and a good amount of $ anything is possible.

i hear a little bit of rattling when i get above 60mph, it sounds like the wiper blades are rattling in the wind, but its not them, i dont know where the hell it is coming from..

but my MAIN problem is, I dropped a socket when i was changing out my grill and i thought it hit the plastic underneath, but i cant find it

i put it up on jacks this weekend and looked around and cannot find it ANYWHERE, the only thing i havent done is dropped the radiator to see if it is lodged in there somehow,,,

im such a clutz

deezo once suggested put that hockey tape type stuff around the air defrost vents under the windshield. i have yet to do that, but today noticed something that could help. i pulled out the dash vent/clock thing in the center console and looked up above all the junk in there and saw two screws. i don't have a screw driver long enough to fit in there, so i'm gonna look for one around, or just temporarily remove the vent stuff in the way and try to see if tightening those screws will keep the defroster vents from rattling.

i fixed my a pillar noise really easy. when i popped off the a pillar, i noticed that at the bottum was sound deadening fluffy material. it was moved out of place allowing the plastic to touch plastic and that's why it was making noise. i simply moved it back into place between the two pieces and the noise is gone.

1) buy some expanding foam spray and spray a little bit behind the pillars and other various things that rattle.. then close it up right away..

2) stuff foam in between other places...

3) turn up stereo

now what i am really ****ed about is that i have a rattle right in front of me. Right behind the cluster. It sounds like a screw or a coin fell in there and it just rattles really loud, right in front of me.. driving me crazy.. once weather gets warmer, i'm going to tear apart the whole dash and find this f-cking thing

I bought a couple of sheets of felt material (designed to cover the bottom of chair and table legs) with pealable backing from Home Depot ($2.95) then cut strips to size with scissors, and applied to areas that rattled. Applied B-Quiet Sound Deadening purchased on EBAY to doors, under carpet, complete trunk area, and trunk lid. The doors and trunk close with a solid thump instead of tinnie sound they had before and the car is so much quieter now. The one thing that really surprised me is how much better the Bose system sounds and how much more bass I have now. Obviously with the decrease in road noise the system seem to get so much louder now. I even did the underside of the lock and window switch panel cutting small strips of the felt material to size as I had rattles from this area also.
