Did I screw up my Spark Plugs?

OK, so I changed my spark plugs on my max for the first time recently. Went with the coppers (correct plug and all) BUT
When I was measuring the gap as everyone advised, I didnt measure just the very "edge" of the opening, rather pushed the gap tool like all the way into the gap and it said ".4" when I did this. (actually I dont remember if it was .4 or .04 but you can see where I am going with this-

So I was like, well, good thing I measured the gap!
I know- I will shimmy this gap too along the spark plug until it gets to .44 which is stock.

So the same thing happened to the next plug and the next. Long story short, I may have increased the size of my gap in all my plugs by .04 (or .004 I forget the decimal place but you know what I mean)

The end result is that it might be like a 9% larger gap than I need to be perfectly stock. Did I screw up? I recently got good Dyno results (186.9 /194.4) so I am not seeing any real detrimental results... But would you advise me to install plugs and make sure they are exactly .044 (or .44 whatev..)
Thanks yall-

since you are running n/a, the gap should be .039-.044. make sure to use a wire gauge because the coin gauge i have found to be very inaccurate. i was told to use the wire gauge but used the coin gauge instead during the last time i changed them. i swapped them out today and found the gap to way out. i realize the gap increases overtime but they were only used for 11k. after i swapped them out using the wire gauge to .044 i noticed it drove much smoother even though the old plugs were only at half life.
