well most of the stations up in north jersey are full service ( i do pump it myself sometimes & no one ever said anything yet) . . . i think a lot of the stations down south are self serve. . .

make sure you check your oil level, all the fluids, especially wiper fluid (very important on long trips) . . .check your tire pressure & you should be all right. . .

Also on main roads bear in mind you make left and U turns from the right side of the road. Its wierd for an out of stater but you'll get used to it.

I don't live in NJ, but I believe that there's a law saying you cannot pump your own gas.

Its against the law to pump your on gas in NJ and sometimes they get ****ed if you try. Check your tires and fluids and you should be set. As for the wiper fluid, I wish I had that lovely mechanism(damn s/c cai!!)

YES IT IS ILLEGAL TO PUMP YOUR OWN GAS IN JERSEY. I work at a gas station as a gas attendent and the one thing we cant stand is when an out of stater gives us trouble and refuses to let us do our jobs. If u do it urself u may or may not get s**t from an attendent, just dont be rude and let them set the pump and they prob wont care.

Check ur air pressure before the trip, as well as oil - dont wana be drivin long miles on little to no oil or old oil at that.

I have no clue, i do know that in jersey gas stations pay less for insurance being as how they have a less likly chance of the customer getting hurt, that is also why u will notice that jersey always has lower prices than self service states.

That's better than what I used to see at stations that had self and full service at the same station. There was a 5-10 cents per gallon difference between self and full service gas. I guess only a few people actually used full service though.

What I heard was the handicapped complained that they were getting charged higher prices for FULL vs SELF because they cant pump their own gas.

So now everyone gets their gas pumped for the higher price.

Thats one of the main reasons its illegal here in oregon; the creation of jobs. While it is satisfying to have some jerk who made fun of me back in high school making minimum wage pump my gas, I'd rather do it myself.

lol when a friend of mine took his model A hot rod to get gas he always pumped it himelf due to his multi-thousand dollar paint job. When they'd give him crap, his saying still sticks in my mind: (holding the nozzle) "Now. Do I fill the car, or do I fill you?"
