I might do this over my spring break( my springs break comes after everyone leaves and its dirty EVERYWHERE in Florida)

How much would you pay? They would be just like mine and it will have red/clear tails and I will match the inner ones. All you would have to do is to install the taillight because the wireing and everything would be complete.

I would not want LED tails because if a few of the LEDs burn out, it looks funny. I see that on trucks and buses all the time. They do look nice when all lit up though.

Im sure you could sell then for about 150-200 bucks or something to someone who really wants them. But then again, i have no idea really the amount of time and such that goes into making a set.

I do have a quick question though, why is your spoiler brake light solid like a caddys and not the normal dotted looking like everyone elses? Aftermarket? Or just the way the pic came out...

if your doing the red clear too, Id say you could easily ask for $400 but you wont find many people who want to pay that much.

the parts for the leds cost about 60. Tails, I hope I can get for less then 100 for all 4. I would like to have atleast 200+, but if no one wants, not a prob to me. I was just wondering if anyone wanted some because I prob will have the spare time.

If no one wants, I might try to do my friends 01.

I'd definitely pay $200 for red/clears + LEDs if I had the money, but I don't. It's a good idea though, I'm sure someone will want in on this.

What if instead of actually doing the led mod on the light, just make the pieces from perforated board with the LED's all wired and jsut sell that. The customers then can open their lights and just stick those straight in. I bet you can find people to buy those

I think 300-400 bucks for lights is a good deal. Mine took a while, VERY time consuming and really back breaking. But now i kno what to do, so i bet my 2nd set (if i made one) wouldnt take me as long and would make less mistakes.

I don't know exactly how much time you spend on them total, but 350$ would be fair IMO. If I didn't already have red/clears purchased from custommaxima, I'd definitely buy a set.

I'm just about finished with mine. Guys. For those of you who have not done this yourself, 200 is CHEAP. I found out very quickly that this is a VERY time consuming mod. You guys saying you'd pay 150 are crazy. You can't even get red/clears for much cheaper. Having done the mod myself, I'd say $400 is about par for the ammount of work requirred.

I really dout I will do the complete set now, as not many of you all understand the labor involved. But I might sell the boards.

I agree, the amount of work and time is great. 300-400 is a fair price. I do reverse and blinkers as well, so that's some extra time.

QUESTION: How did you secure boards on the housings? Screws or glue (if glue thne what kind, 'cause it's got to take at least 300 degrees of heat when you put tails back togather...)

...almost done with mine...

Glue from a hot glue gun. There is no room for screws, my boards are a nice tight fit so they didn't even move w/o the glue, but I have taken them apart about 5 times and the hot glue was not melted/dripping off.

I am sorry, I did not really understand. You used glue gun or just glue that you refill gun with?

Where can such glue (gun) be purchased?... ummm, on second thought I'll ask around if they sell glue guns and glue to it...

Thanks!

He means those electrical glue guns that you plug in and melt a stick of glue. Go to a arts and crafts place and as for a hot glue gun, they'll know exactly what you want.

Oh I see, thanks man, I'll ask.

Well back to the topic! How much one would be willing to pay just for the boards w/ leds & resistors all wired, all you would need to do would be to open your tails and install them there.

$? - for four pieces (parking & brakes)
$? - for eight peices (parking & brakes, blinkers & reverse)

I'd be more than willing to seriously pay for a set. I love the LED tails. I dont know about the rest of you but I really want a set. If I can get them in boards, thats fine, I dont mind.
