I remember reading about doing this a few months ago on the board. It produces a lot of smoke and looks pretty cool. We have this project foir english where we have to make a "music video" and me and my friends wanna just roll around in cars basically. I thought doing a bleach burnout (combined with ebrake) would look tight. Will this really mess up my tires or anything else? Do I just put regular bleach on a rag them rub it all over the tire treads?

Thanks,
PJ

they do wear your tires pretty good but they are fun...

my friend and i did this on his 69 camaro (which would do a crazy burnout without bleach) and got this picture with it

well, that's think about this: you are doing a "burn out". that smoke you see if rubber burning up. So I would say yes, it really IS that bad. You are also putting some strain on the tranny.

Ha ha ha

- This brings back memories of a similar class project that I had in High School. We had to make a music video and did not think far enough ahead to realize that you wouldn't be able to hear the screeching rubber once the song was dubbed in. We did have a lot of fun making the video though.
- Keep in mind that your teacher might not like cars, burn-outs, etc. If he/she would be cool with that, then find a deserted cop-less environment to film. E-brake maneuvers are usually only effective on loose surfaces (rain-slicked or dirt), so don't try this out on a dry parking lot. (Too much noise, you'll shred your tires, and you probably don't know how to control it yet.)
- Have fun, but keep in mind that you don't have Hollywood filming permits. You can get arrested and bystanders are always VERY eager to call the cops on "hoodlums" like you. The rollers will be there before you even know it.
- Good luck.

Yea, we'll definitley do this in a deserted place, but I guess I wont do the bleach burnouts on ym tires. Maybe in my mom's minivan, LOL. Huge amounts of smoke from the tires of a Pontiac montana would be hilarious. (yes it does burnouts so this would work!) Actually, I can control the ebrake burnouts easily...it's not rocket science here! I can also get ti to work on dry pavement very good. Today I did one during lunch at this deli parking lot, two cops getting their lunch saw me but were out of their cars and just looked at each other and shook their heads. I still beat it out of there though!

Adam-
You still running 14.8s once you put those super heavy 18S on? BTW, in your pic it looks like you're only smoking the right tire Also, why are you doing a burnout like that on street tires? Do you know that street tires hook up better cold and you release oil from the tire when you do a burnout, right?

PJ-
If you really want to do a burnout then forget the bleach. Just put some water down and mix in a little vegetable oil. The smoke from a bleach burnout is mostly from the rubber. Bleach is slick, therefore it is easy to spin in. REMEMBER, if you've got an automatic, prolonged spinning thru the gears WILL destroy you tranny. This is no joke. It generates a ton of heat with the converter and your coolers have no air flowing across them.

Actually I'm running on 19's now.
They're not *super* heavy...but not light by any means.
Still spin like a MF'er no matter what I do.
Since the Supercharger install i get NO traction in 1st and 2nd gears...
I won't be dragging @ the track again until i have slicks.
I'm about to order either 22x8x15 or 24x8x15 slicks.
They should help drop my horrible 2.4-2.6 sixty foot times.

You guys will love this

My friend has a Gen II CRX. He ran off the road the other day and broke his wiper switch so we rigged up his mister switch with a screwdriver and did some custom work to it. We went to Wal-Mart and for 2 dollars got some tubing. We disconnected his misters on the hood and drilled a hole through his fender and affixed the tubing so that it will spray all over his tires when he hits the button. Cool huh, he is putting two of his old stock tires on tomorrow and we're gonna burn the town up. Beat that.
