Not all jacks are created equal. It should be interesting to see how a $10 jack works ... just make sure you're not under the car at the time.

I had one of those cheapo jacks from Autozone (Franklin or something) - went through 3 of them in one day, and finally had to get my money back. You get what you pay for.

The jack I have now I love - 3 ton heavy duty jack, suitable for professional use. Bought it years ago at Sam's Club for $49.99. They normally go for ~ $200.

Im looking for some stands and a jack also. Do you know the lift height and hows the quality of acdelco? I was planning to spend $100 for craftsman stands and jack that go up to 21".

I got some "Mack" (the semi company) brand jack stands from Wal-Mart for $8.88. They worked fine for when I repainted my calipers.........

Can one of you fellas take a digital photo and snow where you place the jack and the stands, front and rear? Thx.

I got a Craftsman 2 14 ton with stands for $30 only goes up 15" (hmm...they're on the website for $55 now), works fine. Most of the cheap jacks are made in China, that's why they're so cheap. Doesn't make them bad but they probably would not stand up to working in a regular shop. A 2-ton OTC jack goes for about $350 discount, that's probably entry-level for a pro. Takes only 17 strokes to reach its 23" lift height though.

I got the craftsman 3 ton set like a month ago, only paid $50 at SEARS. They had it on sale for $70 for a month, including the free jacks. 21"+ max height.

I would do it right now if I had a digicam, sorry. I just put mine right in front or behind where I put my floor jack. On that little lip from the factory, dont put it on the 2inch wide brace behind it or you will crush in your floor board, dont ask me why i know that
