Hydraulic trunk release?

I was watching a car show and saw a car with a trunk that automatically opened and closed. I was wondering if it was possible to install a couple of hydraulic tubes to our trunk lid so when we opened it, it would slowly rise all the way open. Have any of you seen anything like that?

I was thinking that a couple of hydraulic tubes would be able to lift the trunk. No one has tried anything like that?

I was thinking that a couple of hydraulic cylinders would lift the trunk when you popped the trunk. Probably like the cylinder on top in the picture. I'm gonna give it a shot
