Looking to get an alarm.
Viper 600 seems good.

I want something that will work with original options like
trunk door open and window roll down.

Also want engine kill and sensor to detect if someone's
jacking up car for wheels.

Have a 5 speed so remote start is out.(unless someone knows
how to defeat clutch safety)

Thanks, E

I have the Viper 450?? (I think that's the #) on my wifes Stratus. It has remote start, trunk, and such, but no windows. I don't think anyone has tried to steal the car or the wheels yet, so I don't know how well that works...

Viper is good line... they are made by DEI who makes Python and many others... Try to get a model with SHF to get better range.. (light on transmitter is Green not Red)...

Just look for a good installer...

You probably won't be able to get the factory roll down to work with the alarm without using modules... at least I haven't found a way yet. I accidentally got a window to roll down when I was trying to put in the blue LEDs so I know it is possible... Probably someone in EE could figure out the circuit board there...

I have the viper 800esp w/ all the goodies. Great alarm. Get the proximity sensor, you'll love it. I have that and all my windows go up and down w/ the remote and I can also close my sunroof w/ the remote too.

A friend of mine was in the market for an alarm, and my uncle has a viper. I don't know what model it is, but he said that it works well, and no problems. He recommended it and my friend got it too.

I have the remote start and I have 5-speed. Any shop can do it but it's hard to find one who will because of the liability.

Any alarm will give you the extra remote trunk openers as long as you have the electronic trunk option. Everything else is extra money....

for those with the auto-window down and sunroof open option... did you have to pay extra for that?

yeop gotta buy 3 modules.. for the sunroof u need the post timer module and for the windows u need two 530t window modules.. for my sunroof, my alarm will only close it if it's slid open but not when it's tilted.. i also have a relay to turn on my stereo, headlight, ignition. and trunk is built in already.

Yup, just like Mingo says, you need relays. I had my alarm installed for like 600, that's including the alarm w/ the relays and labor. I got a discount, b/c I work at Circuit City.

in a way yea.. but the truth is. a 100dollar alarm sux (or is just as good) as a 1,000 dollar alarm in terms of security. but it's all those fun things that you pay for, such as remote start, window roll down, stereo on, trunk release, walking lights, and auxilary inputs. my friend has one channel of his 800esp hooked up to the hydraulic lifters for his amp rack.. it's hecka cool. i say if u seriously wnat to get into the car electronic world (audio/video) then get a real cool alarm.
