parts for rebuilding starter

I have had starting problems lately, and today the starter decided it didn't want to do it's job anymore. I hit it with a breaker bar a couple of times and it gave me enough crank to make it home. A couple of months ago, I took it to a starter shop and they changed out the brushes and lubed it and gave it a couple new bushings. Well, it gave up on me again and so I think it's the solenoids.

I'm wondering what parts are involved in a total rebuild. I can't think of any other parts besides the solenoid. Can you? Any tips? Think it's something else?

I could put in the autozone starter that I went and got but I don't trust it, so I'll go get a solenoid from either napa or nissan. Or whole starters from either of those places.

I would recommend getting the whole starter unless you are good at rebuilding them. There are many wear parts inside the starter that would need to be checked to make sure they are within specs. NAPA would be my choice over the dealer. You can usually get a better warranty from NAPA for a lower price than the dealer. Stay away from AutoZone unless you don't mind taking the starter back on a regular basis.
