Homelink programming instructions
Homelink programming instructions
Hi,
I live in an apt building with a basement garage, the ****** here offer a remote for $36 a year plus $36 programming surchache in the first year, this is on top of my rent and $100 a month garage fee. I thought it be a wise investment to get me a homelink visor and F everybody.
I got me some visors with homelink, now i gotta program them to open the door. Im tired of getting out everytime to open the door and running back to the car and making it before the door shuts, i mean it gets the chicks laughing when i bring them home but when im bringing them home, thats not the entertainment i have in mind. Plus when it rains it a biotch, point in case, i need the instructions, thanks in advance.

This applies to the 2000 at least-
Reset factory settings: Hold outer 2 buttons for 20 seconds or so until it flashes.
Program one button: Hold the garage remote ~5-6 inches from the visor, and press and hold both the button you want to program, as well as the button on the garage remote simultaneously, continuing to hold until the HomeLink's LED flashes fast.
If the garage door opener uses a "rolling code" design, you will have to do this additional step:
(using a second assistant if necessary) Find the garage door opener's "LEARN" button (may require opening up the opener itself at the ceiling)
Press this LEARN button, then press your programmed HomeLink button. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times in succession to program the garage door opener so it will accept your HomeLink.
Summary: 1. YOU NEED A REMOTE THAT WORKS
2. You need to be able to access the garage door opener's "LEARN" button if it's a coded one.
