Is the LSD available yet?

I am seriously considering getting the LSD now, when/if it becomes availible. Last night I was hanging out and an AUTOMATIC v6 mustang tries to do a burnout to show us up. I quickly jacked the Ebrake, reved it up and popped the clutch. Needless to say I had a huge huge smoke cloud arising from my tire. Later on I went back to find out that I only spun ONE tire and it made a huge dark mark. I guess I will wait till my clutch goes out so I can have 3 things done at once. Clutch, LSD and light flywheel.

Only one tire??

Shouldn't both tires on the front axle move when you floor it?

If only one tire moved, then wouldn't the car rotate about that tire?

I don't know what's wrong with some of you alls maximas but my 95 SE 5 Speed has it and my 92 SE automatic that I sold had it. Every time I spun either one of the cars, it pulled both wheels. No B.S.

The 92 SE had a factory LSD, the 95 however did not. It could be that both wheels had the same amount of traction(or lack of it) and therefore both tires gripped/slipped and it gave you the illusion of a LSD

Unless you've got a Canadian model, you DON'T have LSD on the 4th gen...PERIOD. Simple as that. My Maxima almost always lights up both tires on a straight away, but if I go around a turn in the rain and floor it, the inside tire would spin wildly.

Eric-
Just to do burnouts doesn't really sound like you need a LSD. The LSD will cost you about $1800 when all is said and done. Only on the autocross track is where you could really use the LSD. It would actually be cheaper just to buy a set of autocross race tires.

But did you get the gear driven Quaif/Cattman unit, or just a VSLD one from a different model?
