got into a wreck

I wasn't going to post this but I think I had to because some members question why I backed out of their deals. As you guys in Louisiana know, it's been raining all this week. Normally, I am very careful driving in the rain. However, for some reason today I must have lost concentration for a split second and that costed me. I was taking a turn that I had taken many, many times before and never had any problems. I guess I must have taken the turn much faster than I realize. I lost control of the car, but somehow corrected it enough so I wouldn't smash against this car that was parked. However, I didn't do enough to avoid the guardrail. My whole front end is messed up. I need a new front bumper, grill, headlights, bumper lenses, and corner lights(next to headlights). It could have been worse I think. Nothing behind the bumper was damaged such as the radiator. I was going to bring the car to the body shop in a week to get the rear spoiler install and clean up some of the gunk left by removing the bodykit. Well, I guess the car is going to need much more work than I wanted to. I might just get the Cefiro headlights now instead of the factory ones since they cost about the same. And the Cefiro ones look much better. If you're wondering, now you know.

Sorry to hear about your loss but at least you're okay. Best of luck to you in repairing your ride.

OMG, cumalot. We black maximas have bad luck down here. Sorry to here about it. I still have the ones you gave me if you want them back. (Didn't have them long enough to use them) I may or may not be parting out my car so let me know if you need anything.

At least the MEVI is fine. That is two of us that had to learn that lesson the hard way.

Thanks for the concern guys. And I was starting to really enjoy the car again. The car was more enjoyable to drive with the MEVI and ECU. The track time didn't reflect that of course. I'm not giving up though. Going to get it repair and maybe put on one or two more mods.

Man that blows! Hopefully your insurance will cover you well enough to have a little extra.... or something ;-)

Isn't this like your second wreck in 6 months ?

I'm sure Khai and his guys will be able to fix you up!

Just bad luck I guess. After a few months after I got the whole car repainted, I got into a hit and run that damaged the the front passenger side. And now this. Good thing I got a friend at the bodyshop. Going to get a new front bumper and grill basically for nothing. Now I just need to get the lights.

Btw, I haven't check with the insurance company yet. Do you think insurance will cover this even though it's my fault?

Insurance will cover anything, no matter the fault, but your premiums would go up. The question is, how much are you going to have to pay past your collision deductible and is it worth it for the consequences (meaning increased insurance payments)? Ask your insurance agent how much claiming this would cost you in increases to your payments then decide if you want to claim it or not. Good luck.

This may also give you an excuse to convert to 5spd.

Thanks guys. Will drop the car off at the bodyshop sometime next week. Only thing I will need to get are the headlights, which I plan to get the Cefiro smoked ones. I found the bumper and grill already.
