i'm so conflicted on that
I see the sexiness of the 4th gens when fixed up and i like it immediately but then a 5th gen rolls by and i love that too. Story of my life

How would anybody but you know? Nobody knows what you're looking for. Don't come around asking people what your opinion should be. Say what you want in a car, then ask for facts to learn which car's qualities approximate that as closely as possible.Otherwise, people will typically tell you to get whatever they got. Go on a celica board, they'll reccomend that. Go on a maxima board, we'll reccomend that. Everybody's biased. They can only tell you what they like, and nothing more. And that's not important. You go look around some more and search. It's the only way to find something you like. That's what matters. It's how you find what you want.... and not something that some guy typing away at a computer thousands of miles away wants.

Get a 4th gen. You won't get as ****ed when the inevitable dings and scratches appear.

They're all about the same insurance wise. The max with HIDS was a 2k2-2k3 so I REALLY doubt you can afford that one. I'd get a 4th without a question. I really don't like how the 5th gens look.

i think the max that passed me was a 2k-2k1 because it had those headlight housings but i didn't get a real good look at it. I was captivated by it's beauty. They both look equally sexy to me

If you're captivated by the beauty of a maxima there is definitely something wrong with you.

i say get a 4th gen, but then again i have one so thats wut i like. imo the 4th gen was the best body style. make ur decision based on what u plan to do to the car thats the only thing i can tell u. i dont know what ur money situation is but doubt u can afford a 5th gen if u are lookin for one with hids.

no i was looking at the early 5th gen. 5.5 gen is out of my league

I'm only a teen so i would just be driving to school and hauling the regular stuff (groceries, laundries, etc). I thought that even a 2k-2k1 would be heck on my insurance which is already going to be tough

My aunt has one and while it looks good, it just doesn't have the same effect on me as the 4th and 5th gen. But maybe that's because i grew up with it.

I'd say 5th. 5th gen came out people were complaining that it's ugly, then it grew on them. And people started liking it. Weren't people also complaining when the 4th gen came out? Saying it's like a bar of soap left in the tub too long. The 4th gen will go out of style before the 5th, so go with the newer car. And it's got the vq35!

Woops, it totally went out of mind. What are the exterior differences between the 2002-2003 compared to the 2000-2001. I need to get up to speed here

And the 5.5 have a bigger Nissan symbol on their grille and they dont have the exhaust covering the 5 gen does.

I was in your spot before too, Get the 5th, you get some extra hp, and prettier lights and body style imho. I did and i fell in love with it. Altho i still DO like the styling of the 4th.

it all depends on what you plan to do. personally i love the body of the 4th gen but i also like that extra hp that the 5th gen offers and that the 5th gen keeps its power after 5500 rpm unlike the 4th gens
