wish i had a 6th gen...

Well, at least after looking at the australian version of it. They followed more closely to the lines of the g35. WOW... and that grill kicks A$$. the rear is still kinda funny...

Definitely MUCH better than the US version, but still not all that great. The interior is pretty sweet though.

The rear resembles a bit the camry..

From the side it looks a bit like VW/Audi, and surely looks longer than it is.

Who cares it comes with auto only?

Put that interior into the US version and you got another buyer, me.

And when you convert it, the base price is about a grand higher. Not really much but I wonder if that grand made any difference in the final quality.

I like it.

I like the new Maxima design we have here. It's taken off well here, more Maxima's were sold in December then ever before in New Zealand due to the new design.

The Maxima is Nissan's top luxury car in Australasia, we don't have Inifniti here. For what you get though, it's cheaper then its competitors such as the Honda Euro Accord (I think its under the Acura brand name in the US?).

I dream of owning this car one day lol .

The honda euro accord is the new acura tsx here. That maxima looks way better than the US's 6th gen.

Yeah, I think so too It's possible an AWD version will be released as the Teana (the Japanese car which the Maxima is based on) comes in an AWD variety Could further improve it's popularity if they do so

The Maxima here has been without a manual transmisson since around 98. It was very rare for a 95-97 model to be found with a manual transmisson, so you could even say the 3rd gen max were the last to have a manual transmission.

Since the overseas Maxima has always been the I30/I35 here, wonder if we are looking at the new I35?

From what I've gathered through posts on this forum, the I30/I35 range has been discontinued soit's likely this car will never make it to the USA.

I know, I've read the same thing. But it looks like if Nissan wants to keep the I35 going they could use the new overseas Max, especially since the headlights look like the Q45. It could blend in with the Infiniti line up.

Our 4th and 5th gens look better but the 6th gen does not look as nice as the Teana/Maxima(AUS). That interior is off the chain as well. Why do we always get a filtered version of Nissans?

I dunno what to think. The front looks kind of nice. But the overall stance/profile shape of the car resembles a toyota echo (IMO). It's definitely a more conservative styling. Probly wouldn't do to well in the U.S..... car doesn't look aggressive enough.

That interior is what the 6th gen really needs... the looks of the Teana would be nice but it really needs an interior like that to set it apart.

If I had a 6th, I would be looking to see if that grille and front bumper would fit.

I some how doubt anything between the two would be inter-changeable. If you put a front on pic of the NZ/Aus Maxima next to a front on pic of a US Maxima you can see that the two grilles are shaped completely different.

Some of the styling on our new Maxima was influenced by Renault, not sure if that was the same with the US model? If not, could be a reason why our Maxima has a more European look to it compared to the US style. I got to sit in one of the new Maxima's the other day while mine was getting a warrant of fitness at the dealer (a certificate that says its safe for the car to be on the road for 6 months), and wow it looked and felt really nice! The front passanger seat is simmillar to a lazy boy, you can pull up a foot rest The top end model even comes with a roof mounted LCD screen for watching DVD from the back
