Going to Japan

Work is sending me to Okinawa for a few weeks, if there anything worthwile I can pick up that I could carry back with me? Do I just go to a nissan dealer?

I've never been there before so any other info would be great.

I just got back and tell you truth you won't find lot's of "goodies" at your local auto shop there - especially on Okinawa. Tokyo is bit different
look for local speed shops and maybe second hand parts at Autobacks.

their local Auto parts stores carry lots of Navigation/audio suff and about ten thousands of those car air refreshners in litlle cans

good luck !!!

Nick.

Go to a Super Autobacs, if you can find one.

Yes, get an air freshener

Generally, I found a lot of things that can be obtained here to be more expensive there (e.g., HID kits).

However, the stores itself are way cooler .... a lot of Impreza parts, wheels, accessories, audio/video/tv/navi as mentioned before.

It's worth checking out, but I won't be surprised if you only walk out with little trinkets, blank keys, some bulbs, and an air freshener.

if you're going to be going to tokyo, i REALLY suggest you go to the nissan gallery and check out the latest offerings there.

please grab the catalogs of nissans they are showcasing at either a dealership or at the gallery. if you feel kind, grab one for me and send it to me in nyc.

i wish i was more into cars when i went the previous two times, i would have LOOKED around for an autoback's.

Your probably not going to find much for a Maxima. I like another mentioned found the prices there to be much higher than here in the states. Skylines in Okinawa are like Civics are here. They are everywhere. I managed to see a couple of very suped up GTR's. Autobacks is a really large place over there. Have fun on the flight, it's a long one!

The Nissan gallery is on the first (ground) floor of the Nissan HQ in Ginza. It's got a lot of current production vehicles. It's pretty nice. If you're in that area, you should also check out the Sony Building.

If you get a chance to look for it, theres a chain of tune shops called "UP Garage" they have better prices / wider variety of used parts vs the Super Auto Bachs
