since 97 got one ticket for speeding on a highway, state trooper would have written me up for anything he could have found. got me for tint also ( i have 5%) i think the fine was 80 dollars. tint still on with no plans of ever taking it off, love the stuff !

 

my tint is completely legal it is 35% reflective during the daytime its it really reflective so you cannot see though it at all but when u get up close or look at it at night time u can see through it plain as day

 

Word. I'm guessing with all the terror threats and the upcoming GOP convention, on top of everything else that goes on in the city, the cops are not taking any chances.

My cousin got a ticket for tint down by Wall Street. There was a checkpoint set up (makes sense since it's a high security area) and the cop gave him a ticket but didn't mention anything about removing the tint.

Sorry, I have no suggestion on fighting the ticket. I say pay it, leave the tint on, and knock on wood that you don't get pulled over/stopped at a checkpoint.

 

just got mine tinted 5%. Gotta get used to the darkness, can't cut as quickly as I can because I take awhile longer to see if they're any cars next to me during hte night. Other than that, it looks gorgeous on a blackmax.

 

5% limo tint all around had it on for 5 years never been busted for it .

 

I've got 5% and have been pulled over in excess of 15 times here in NYC, got measured by tint meters and the whole 9 yards, never got a ticket though

 

It depends on your state. Normally if you only go 1 shade lighter than legal you don't get it trouble (not to say it can't happen - there's a reason it's called a "legal limit"). Here in Va the law is 35% in the back and 50% in the front. I have 35% all around and I have never had a problem with it (mind you I have been pulled over once and he did not even see to notice it).

Did you get the tint measure by a shop? Any place you know where I can get my windows measure? I got a ticket a couple of months ago and the cops said my windows too dark. When I got the windows tinted, the guy told me was 35%.

 

Ive been measured by the cops when they pulled me over a few times.. one time it registered 12% the other 7%. Fight the ticket if you have 35%, get a receipt from the place you got it from saying you got 35% and go somewhere that will measure it for you... To them its just a summons in their book and one less they have to write.

 

I have 5% all around and haven't gotten any crap for it. Although, I am lucky living in Cali where the legal limit is anything for all the windows except for the front two. That means I can paint them if I feel like it. I just roll my front 2 down whenever I see a cop around or get pulled over. I don't really worry about it too much and I don't think they do either. 5% on all 4 windows + rear on my daily driver, no problems from police -
although I personally think it is too dark, and will either have it retinted to 20/35 or go back to no tint.

 

I had a ticket on my 2K Max for tinted window but with my 2K2, I haven't had one yet (knock on wood). I guess my firefighter sticker helps a bit....lol

 

Had 35% reflective tint, got pulled over, fought the ticket (w/ medical reasons), lost and I paid. Got pulled over at night for tint but no ticket. Got ticketed over for having 25% black tint. Seriously thinking about taking my tint off.
