Maxima Is Done...
Long story short, Maxima got clipped on the side by old suv as he was passing me on the right lane on a very narrow highway (no shoulders) at 75mph. I lost control of the car as I attempted to keep the car from hitting the center divider. For those who are local to NYC/NJ area, it was on Pulaski Skyway. Front end is completely gone as the Max bounced off both sides of the divider, the suv rolled over.
I've got some bruises and pain from the collision and airbags but I'll be ok.
Deployed airbags, front end frame, transmission, control arm, doors...The cost of repair is over 8K (I work at a bodyshop and this is my cost for parts alone). I have a new Civic SI under the same insurance policy so I had taken collision insurance off the Max to keep the premium below $3200/yr. I'm not going to repair her again.
Took a few days to think about whether I should save up and get a 5spd Max so I can at least move most of my mods over or part it out.. I've decided to part the Max out. This was the 2nd accident in nearly 4 years with the Max, I just need to start with a clean slate at this point. At least there's the little SI for me to get around with.

oh my gosh Ange, I'm glad to hear your okay. *sigh* Yet another beautiful Max bites the dust because of poor/reckless drivers... Good luck on whatever you choose to do next. Since you guys already have an EVO, get a WRX STi... or an AE86 and turbo that baby up and drift your way into the city every day
my favorite max
Glad your still here to tell us though
what a shame
. I saw the FS thread earlier but couldn't figure out why you would do that when you finally got the custom wheels on.

Wow, sorry to hear that Ange. Sad that you are parting the car under such circumstances. I much rather hear you are parting the car because it's just time to move on. In any case, it's good that you are fine. That's most important.
Ange, I saw the car when I stopped by Friday, but you weren't there. It's amazing you only had cuts and bruises.
The front end is completely gone. I saw was looking at it from the drivers side and was like "Oh this isn't devastating," then I went to the passenger side and it was 10 times worse. There's a huge chuck taken out of the CF hood. It's just sad.

Glad to hear you're OK. I wasn't as fortunate a long time ago and spent 46 days in the hospital, with a fractured femur, hairline skull fracture, broken nose, broken jaw, cracked ribs etc. Went in at 160 lbs. and came out at 135 lbs. So consider yourself very lucky!
It sounds to me that despite the fact you have no collision insurance you should be paid out for the car as it was not your fault and the SUV drivers insurance should cover you. Isn't that correct? That's how it works in British Columbia.

Im glad you're ok too ANge. It was unfortunate that it had to happen to you, and your max. I agree its time to move to a new platform, and continuing modifying! But first rest and heal up, because your health should be the number 1 priority. Good luck!
