2004 or late model (2001-2003) SE - 5sp?
Hi,
Well, decisions, decisions!
I am considering a 2004 SE-5spd or a later model (2003, 2002).
In either case, I would have to finance the car.
Assuming pretty good credit, what should I expect to pay a month (desired options: sunroof, leather)
Sorry , my questions are vague, because for now, i only have a good idea of what I can afford per month....
Is it generally true that APRs for used cars are much more than for newer ones?
If there is approx $5-10k between a new and a used late model max, under what circumstances will it be better to go for either one.
sincerely, Noela

i forgot to add that I am primarily interested in the MSRP and then the monthly payments for 3 - 5 yr terms....
is there a software that can help me compare relative MSRP & APRs at various terms ?
/Noela again !

There are lots of payment calculators on the internet, even the one on e-bay works pretty well.
As far as new vs. used, you probably already know you face huge depreciation just by driving a car off the lot. You get the full warranty of course, but to me, that just isn't worth it. If you can let someone else eat the depreciation of the first year or two you've already saved yourself several thousand dollars. It sounds like, though, that you're looking more at the interest rates?
My boss just purchased a 2002 cadillac and the dealership tried to stick him with 7.9%. Well, he told them he wasn't going to buy it if they couldn't do better than 4.5 and he ended up getting 4. I could be wrong but I don't think you're going to get a lot better than 4% interest rate on a new car.
So, in my humble opinion, go used.

i agree.. a used 2002 - 2003 is far better than a new 2004....
the APR thing is tricky..i saw cars advertised for 1.9 APR but maybe that is for leases....quite confusing, huh?
cheers - Noela
BerTO175, does yours come with a maxima.org discount? ...../N
