best and safest way to raise car ?

I put a piece of wood on top of the stands so it doesn't damage the car. Worked fine for me as long as you center the wood on top of the stand.

I pull my car up onto the curb on 1 side. Easy, done quick. And if u do it on the right side it helps all the oil drain out better.

For all other work i use a 2 ton floor jack & jack stands.

just to clarify, your drivers side should be up on the curb, with a maxima.
Mr Gone, the oil drain plug is on the passenger side, as you stated.
Sorry for not making this clear, saying right side doesnt help too much. What I meant was if you do it on the correct(right)side it can make the oil drain faster.
