Ok, after installing my new BLUE APC #194 bulbs into my guages the other week, they are already starting to fade. I have been looking around and cannot find another bulb from another manufacturer that I could use that would be worth replacing the existing bulbs. Does any one know of a GOOD buld that will not fade and is an actual blue and not a teal color like the APCs. Thanks

Use Polarg...they have a much nicer and longer lasting color.

Are these kind of like a bluish arctic white that you see in the I30? I'm trying to figure out whether this color is achieved by the bulbs alone, or if there is a tinted film in the gauge cluster that makes it have that bluish white. I tried finding this out from a Nissan dealer parts store and they were clueless.

im not to sure what they are called but some import shops carry these little "light bulb condoms" that go over a light and since the sleeve is colored your light is colored, cheap alternative

Even cheaper is Colored plastic wrap that you get at the grocery store, just dont use them on anything hotter than 194s cause it will burn.

www.autofreak.net has a few different brands in blue. I have the raybrigs and they look pretty good.

I30CeFiRo said he replaced his I30 gauges with the Indiglo kit. When he removed the bulbs, he noted that they had blue sleeves over them. So, the question is what brand of bulb does Infinity use and can you buy the blue sleeves from them. Maybe there is an aftermarket sleeve you can get that matches, for a reasonable price.

I'd rather go this route, because the blue colored bulbs are probably not the right color and they might fade over time.

When upgrading to #194, do you have up bump up the fuse amperage? (e.g. from 7.5 to 10)

I'm assuming by your screenname that you have a 95 Max. A 95 Max already has 194 bulbs with blue sleeves in the gauge cluster. So there's no need to up the fuse.

I have a 95 Max SE. There couldn't be blue sleeves over the bulbs--the light is pure white.

#194 is just the size--I meant to say that when upgrading to a more powerful bulb of that size, do you need to change the fuse. Well, I'll find out soon enough. I'm going to order the Eurolite Crystal Whites. The folks there said it is a high intensity whitish blue. Sounds like the I30 gauge look I've been searching for.

It looked pretty cool, although it is still a teal color, not a true blue. I didn't quite match the window switches and a/c leds which are blue. So, I am going to try the Polarg blue #194's. If they do not work, then I will use blue paint and try to make some of my own. Later all.

Trust me... there's a blue sleeve. I've messed around with my gauges enough times - changing the lights, putting in indiglos, taking them out... there are blue sleeves. And yes, you're right, they certainly don't give the bulb a blue tint.

OK, I trust you.
It's weird then, isn't it? I guess the tint just isn't strong enough. So, it looks like a toss up between Polarg and Eurolites... The AIEonline folks said the Eurolites give off a bright white with a hint of blue, probably close to what I'm looking for. Anyway, I'm going to bug the Infinity folks to find out details on their bulbs and/or sleeves.

Like Wizza said, stick with Polargs... they seem to be working fine on mine.

PIAA recently released BLUE and YELLOW 194's. I bought the blue ones for the interior lights (doors) and they look tight!
