advice for maxima after being hit -- accident

so last night i'm driving and this ******* in front on me decides to turn into dairy queen at the last moment and the other ******* behind me ends up rear ending me. Now the damage isn't bad as he braked off most of the momentum, but my bumper is all scratched the **** up,has a small crack in the middle (will be replaced) and my exhaust tip is bent, not the pipe at all, only the tip. Now the kid had full insurance and was very apologetic, after seeing my car he said If i were you I'd just take it to the dealer and do what you have to do,my insurance will pay for everything. what are my options and any advice? I've taken my car to a local body shop around here but I wasn't to pleased with their work, will the dealer to a top quality job? Also, I have the stillen two piece on my bumper now,so if they replace my bumper do you think the dealership would do a good job reinstalling the kit or should I just do it myself again? Let me know, especially you fender bender victims.

Did you get a police report? How bout his name and other info?

Take to either a shop you know that does good work or a shop a that the insurence CO says to go to. Usually, you get a lifetime warrenty on the job if you get it done by the shop that the insurence CO tells you to go to. They should reinstall your lip kit.

get the insurance quote/$$$ first and their suggested/required shops. then get quotes from shops. compare reputation/quality of placse and money made out of it. if your dealer (or a shop) knows you well, they may take best care of you.

for me, my cousin does better work than any shop and charges a lot less. i would actually make money from him doing work paid for by insurance.

before you do anything, take off those 20" chrome and put the stockers back on. you dont want haters to mess with your rims or the bodyshop steal them overnight and act as if they got robbed.

he had full insurance/info and everything, cops came quickly, we got a police report,he got a ticket so it was his fault, what im wondering now is it was my back that was hit,not my front lip, will his insurance cover the near stillen rear piece if i order it and send them the bill? i was told that some insurance's won't cover that b/c it is aftermarket,f-that i will take it to court and say it's part of my car,my car is a show car, it is custom it is supposed to look like that blah blah.. ill post pics after work...

i was thinking about mods being covered, but that should only apply to your insurance policy. someone else's should cover whatever happens to you. if they're under-insured, it comes out of their pocket.

so the insurance man came today.. and i got a check for almost $1100!! i am extremely happy with that, and the dealership accepted that w/ no problems, that even covers 2 new rear valences from ionicdynamics and the charge to paint/install,what do you guys think for the quote considering the pictures above... i got a lot more than i expected, i think the bent exhaust tip threw the dude off he might have thought it was actually the pipe that was bent and not the tip... the process has begun..
