WalMart Mobil 1 sale!

I don't know if this is a repost, but WalMart is having their semi-annual (or whatever) sale on Mobil 1 oil.

5 qt jug - $19.86
1 qt - $4.00

Not sure when it's ending, but I bought 3 jugs today.

Get 'em while they're hot!

The 5Qt price is the same as last year... I think the 1 qt is cheaper.

Sometimes they sell 4 qt for 19.xx. either way a quart of mobil 1 for less than $4 is always a good deal. I heard Costco sells it a lil cheaper yet.

sales are regional... a sale in Westlake does not mean a sale in my town. This should be posted in your regional forum.

It's sometimes ~$18.95-$19.95 on sale here, but the highest price I've seen it is ~$22.

I bought 6 gallons of Amsoil 5w30 the other day for $40... I don't think I'll be needing any mobil 1 for a while.

If your Wal-Mart has tire and lube express, just have them do the change. Under $30 for the change, filter, Mobile 1 (I watch them pour it in) and top-off of fluids, plus they vaccuum the car.

AND you don't have to get dirty or dispose of the waste oil.

heh.. I just got lucky. some dude bought a new Acura that used that 0w15 or whatever they use... he had a bunch of 5w30 left that he didn't need, so I got it for a good price.

I have 174k on my car right now. And I just bought it, and am not sure of which oil the previous owner put in, would it be safe to switch to Mobil 1, or is that a big no no?

It's one of the best things you can do to your car. There is a risk of oil leakage, since a switch to synthetic at high miles can create or uncover leaks in your seals, but it would be worth it to switch.
