blehmco bbk ?'s

I remember seeing somewhere that said we could use cobra rotors with blehmco bbk. If this true( it may not be due to me being a idiot) what specific year mustang is this off of.

Thanks again for the help guys
Chris

you can use cobra rotors with the Z calipers, but the Blehmco relocation bracket is for the 2k4 rotors... the cobra rotors are even larger than those, so I don't think the Blehmco bracket will work.

Jeff92SE Has a bracket that you can use for the 13" Cobra rotors, but my set uses only the 12.6" 2004 Maxima rotors. (you think you're going to see a 0.4" difference- I don't!)

Check out my website for details, but I'll be doing some more discounted pricing because of the introduction of my rear BBK... Look for that post sometime today.

I don't think i can see a .4 difference, but i am interested in using these rotors because of the larger aftermarket selection. I would use a 2k4 rotor if you know of one in cadmium and cross drilled.

Irotors sell x-drilled and slotted 2k4 rotors... give them a call... 714.713.3717 ... maybe if you ask for the old group deal, they would still give it to you

Apparently, the 2000+ maximas have a larger bolt hole than the 3-4gens. Teddibear bought a set off me some time ago was supposed to enlarge one set of holes to 12 or 14mm. Then advise if the brackets fit or not. Have not heard from him.

If teddibear's project works, mine will fit the 2000 maximas and will be cheaper. But it's easier to do yours

Yup. No biggie. The rings help center the rotor much easier then using the lugs. Hey the guy on twinturbo.net tracks his set with his 300z turbo

sure... but the lug stud holes are larger on the cobra rotors too. last thing I like to hear is a huge clunk every time I remount my wheels and hit the brakes. good way to shear off a wheel stud when you slam on the brakes. Ah well... not my ride.

Um.... Haven't exprienced either thing you descirbe. I should know because I've taken everthing off about 3 times to take a look.

Have no idea why you started this anyway. If there's that big of a concern, it was never stated before.

I've seen problems like that with similar projects on other cars. Haven't said anything before because it's not my place, and I don't like saying negative things about someone trying to make mods for our cars. But if it comes down the decision of yours or mine, those are the reasons I designed my bracket instead of just buying yours or making one of my own.

I don't feel the Cobra rotor is a proper substitute on the Max due to those reasons, but if you're willing to run them on your car then more power to you.

That's fine. But the thing is, I've never, ever heard any "clunk" at any time, at any speed.

not yet. but you will. and soon. and you're going to regret it for the rest of your life.

I'm not saying it's going to be a catastrophic failure in our case, but I've seen it on other cars and I'd be worried that it would happen to mine. It's just not a liability I'm willing to put in front of me.

Please explain why I would experience "clunking" later vs sooner? I don't plan to drive the car any differently in the future.

I didn't know that many car people even run different rotors on thier cars much less you hearing/reading about it.

I just sell the brackets. What people do with them is their choice. I don't sell them in kit form.

Check you pm on the werk forum. I dont' like the direction this is going

wouldn't the problem be solved if you simply rested the rotor on the stud before you mount the wheel so its already pre-set so there is not space for the rotor to "clunk" when you first step on the brake? elimminating the clearance

matt, bout to stop by your house real soon and finally buy this thing. I'm ordering the rotors from irotors next week. should i get just slotted or crossdrilled and slotted? dont know how well they designed the crossdrilled ones. you think those will crack under extreme heat and pressure? also do you have a complete set of front/rear stainless steel brake lines which irotors sells in stock in your dirty garage? =) if you do, how much you selling them for?
