Stolen Mirrors

Hey someone is stealing my dad's nissan pathfinder mirrors the glass part only. i was hopin maybe someone would be able to offer some advice on what i can. I live in ny and it is parked in the street all the time. I cant really put a camera on my home window cuz it usually doesnt get parked in front of the house. Does anyone have any suggestions other than parking it in the garage? I'd really appreciate it.Thanks

Outside of taking the glass mirrors in with you at night?

You could try a motion-actived alarm.

But, really, since when are the Pathfinder mirrors sucha big deal? NY/NJ criminals will just steal anything, eh?

you can buy a security attachment to put on the mirrors which makes it impossible to take them off without a key.
im pretty sure you can find it online; just google for it.

Get a video camera installed outside and tape what happens....better if it were motion sensored.... then u can catch them and show the cops

Maybe a crack-head is stealing it for personal use. They are small and portable. Not much you can do unless you have a camera or eye witness it yourself.

Thanks alot everyone. That security attachment sounds good. I dunno bout this thing because they've been stolen twice now and there could be millions of reasons. maybe its because my dad closes both mirrors whenever he parks the car and someone wanted to do it for the heck of knowing that he's ****ing someone off. I thought of maybe being someone we know but can't really think of anyone that would chose to do that. I'm afraid they dont key it tho. i need to stake it out for a couple of nights or somethin. stay on my roof or somethin. Thanks again

It happened to my friends pathfinder also. Only the right side heated mirror though. I think he said a whole bunch of other suv's were also missing mirrors. It might be a new trend to get people to go to the junk yards etc. He went to the junk yard and has another mirrior put in, not the oem pathfinder one. So no more heated mirror for him. This is also in Queens ny btw.
