Spring Noise..

Hey guys,
I lowered my car about 2 weeks ago and now im starting to hear some noise comming from the front suspension. When i lowered it i put AGXs with sprint springs. Is this just settling noise im hearing? Its also making a popping noise. Is it just because the springs are settling?

Thanks

Sean

Does the popping noise happen when you turn the wheel at low speeds? If so it could be the bearing plates up front. Did you replace the bearings and strut mounts up front when you did the drop?

Did you wrap/isolate the springs?

No to both question. Should i have replaced the bearings and the strut mounts when i did it? I also put in some polyuthane bushing too. I hear a slight pop comming in my driveway with the wheel turned. The other noise i hear is a squeeking when going over bump or moving. Its a slight squeek, can only be heard with the radio off.

Yeah, you should have done the strut bearings while you were in there. It is also pretty important to wrap/isolate the springs as well. I'm not saying that either of these are causing your noises, but I'd address them before anything else.

You can either wrap in that spiral wrap they have at radio shack or you can use the OEM isolators. If you still have your stock springs around, take a look at them. Those gray rubberish-plastic sleeves are the isolators. Should you decide to use the spiral wrap, wrap the springs on all the areas that the OEM isolators cover. I personally went with the OEM isolators because they're easier (and IMHO) more effective, but you can get away with the spring wrap if you want to save ~$30.

I also had this problem. I didn't wrap my aftermarket springs because the oem rubber wrap was all torn apart and so I got a slight noise coming from them. I went back and put some insulator/wrap and that fixed the problem.
