HOw fast are the 89 5.0 mustangs

They vary greatly
I've seen em (1988-1992) run anywhere from 13.8 to 15.8 stock. The coupes are usually the fastest b/c of weight (200 lbs less than a GT). Just as a reference, my 88GT ran a 13.9 with gears and an off road h-pipe.

Remington is dead on ...
about them verying. I think the hp was only like 215 or somthing. But there is a 92? Mustang 5.0 in Orlando that runs 8.70s at over 165mph on 10inch slicks. That must be one that was an exeption. HEHE j/k twin turtles always helps.

The thing about such an old 'Stang...
Is that if the owner hasn't taken good care of it, that power figure will be down a bit. Onoe of my friends got an '89 GT conv 5sp for his first car, and it's lost some power. His dad-a Ford mechanic-said that it's prolly only making about 200hp because it needs-among other things-a new head gasket.
Not only that, but he can't shift worth a dime, so I can't wait to take him on in my '99 Max!
