I was gonna ask what kind of set up you had. I can't beleive that sound is just an intake.
Can some one post up the sound of a 4th gen with ypipe and other exhaust mods. This thread has got me wondering how mine would sound with an aftermarket exhaust.

lol i agree totally. My maxima is just a mile stone for me baby.. when i start college and leave college the car will be with me. And then i'll get a REAL job that pays some good money and purchase a 95 supra TT 6 speed.. And throw a greddy BOV, and a greddy exhaust. Sounds like a lil ferrari. Sweetest sound supra... Reminds me of that orange car's exhaust in the f & F movie. That is a sweet exhaust...

Mine at idle has a sweet burble, at WOT it just yells all intake, I put a resonator on it now and I love it.

Have you ever heard a bonestock 98-00 F-Body LS1 or GM 99-01 5.3/6.0 truck? It sounds like crap. It has none of the V8 burble the prior GM V8s were known for. Why is this? The LS1 had a completely different firing order which completely removed that trademark GM burble. It took GM about 3 years to tune the mufflers to get that burble back. I still have yet to hear a modified LS1 that sounds as good as the pre-LS1 GM V8s. Firing order really is the key. Ford needs a huge pat on the back for making the 4.6 SOHC/DOHC motors sound EXACTLY like the 5.0 that was replaced.

Stock, yes. Modded, no way. the 4.6L (DOHC escpecially) are very raspy sounding engines when you open them up with headers and exhaust (has alot to do with that super high redline, their screamers). Ive heard countless 4.6L SOHC/DOHC and they all have that very raspy, tinny sound. It sounds sooooo good. Its still very mustang, just not a throaty as a 5.0L with a modded exhaust system. So while they sound damn near identical stock, you can really tell the difference when modded as to what motor is in each.

And i agree totally on the GM LS1/LT1 thing. LT1s sound very good, while the LS1s just sound like crap. Truckish is the best word you can describe them as sounding. My buddy had a Trans-Am LS1 with exhaust (no idea what kind) and it sounded decent for an LS1, but still a little truckish...

stock, yea the LS1s are too quiet but theres an 00 SS camaro down my block with a 3" SLP exhaust system, and it sounds incredible. Especially once when he opened it up and blew past me on the main road near my house, insane. Sure it aint no 454 but for a fuel injected modern V8 it sounds dam good

LT1s imo dont sound deep enough
