0304: Knock Sensor
0707: Rear O2 Sensor

You could try a resistance test on the KS and see if it is within factory spec (500-620Kohms). If you do this be sure to follow FSM procedure and use the correct pin on connector F121 I believe. Also you will probably have to replace the rear O2 sensor but I would get these problems sorted out before anything else. Is your engine running well when you get it started becuase these problems may also be related.

From what I've experienced, often if the KS code shows up with another code...its a ghost code. You fix the other code, the KS code will go away. Now if the KS code comes up alone, then it's probably a bad KS. I'd pull the O2 sensor, clean it, put it back in, clear the codes and see what happens from there. You could also test the resistence of the KS to be sure as well. If that doesn't help, replace the O2 sensor, clear the codes and see what happens again.

thanks maximase86,

a while back, i pulled the codes for a KS and "Improper shift into a first gear", i didn't feel any difference in the performance of the car, just a little kick once in a while when accelerating from the stop (first gear), so havn't done anything about it... now after a month i pulled the KS and O2 but no "Improper shift into a first gear" does that mean it is fixed somehow? i still feel that kick in the first gear though... and with all those codes, does it effect the starting issue?

might have a lot of typooos! but i am in the hurry!

Thanks Again
Serge

hard starting with a cold car sounds like an issue with your coolant temperature sensor. Id check that first, its sub 20 dollar part at autozone. makes the car difficult to start when cold, sometimes takes alot of cranking and a funny idle until car gets warmer.

Interesting, the improper shift code was a one time thing if appears...regardless of the kick. Have you cleared the current codes out yet? If not, clear them and see if the car throws a the CEL again. Either way, I'd replace the O2 sensor....and you might try a coolant temp sensor....though wouldn't the ECU throw a code for that if it was bad?
