Stainless Steel braided line question

i currently have 2 15' lenghts of stainless steel braided lines (NOS brand) in my possesion both of which are torn because of one reason or another.... i am going to buy a new 15' lenght for my n2o feed line so i will have the 2 old ones for the garbage. i was wondering if i could cut the lines that i have now and create SS brake lines with them, providing that i buy the correct fittings and use the portions of the lines that are not leaking?

anyone know where i can buy the fittings and that the fittings are called and what size?

what size is the hose?
You can get brake line fittings at most real race (not rice!!!) shops, but the fittings will likely cost you as much as just buying the lines new... plus they won't be DOT legal so if they ever blew and you hit someone, you'd be in a world of hurt if you ever got sued.

DanNY is absolutely right i explored the idea as well. the lines have to withstand high pressure and heat. heat being the main enemy. you would still need to get stainless steel brake lines made in an exact length and get fittings like your oem lines then assemble them. IMHO it's not worth it, it might only save you $20 in the end.

and there's a group deal going on right now for Goodridge dot approved ss lines and Technafit ss lines

both are about $100

you can try to do the ebay thing...but make sure you state what condition. DO NOT MENTION BRAKE LINE...that's lawsuit ready to happen.

hmmm didn't u say it was AN3 or AN4...not sure what set up you have.
if the fittings are clean (no cracks/rounded edges) then they should be ok for reuse. you need to determine that...i'm not there looking at the stuff ya know. if you're in doubt...change it out.

if you're really unsure about the hose size then bring it down there and have them look at it. better to get the right thing than to guess and get the wrong item.
