Break in procedure on LSD
anyone ever do a break in procedure on your Quaife LSD? is there one? ive done break in on some RWD LSDs but never heard of one for the Quaife or FWD ones. juss curious.
Well I would call Quaife and see what they say, but if thats not an option/whatever I would probably break it in the same way as your supposed to a new ring and pinion set. Drive it for 15-20mins then let it cool down, then take it easy for the first 100 miles. It's mainly just to flatten any high spots and work harden the gear set.
Heat is bad
and the Quaife is good at producing heat, but on the street it shouldn't be a problem.
Still I'd call Quaife and see what they say.

I could be wrong but I believe that the break-in required is only on clutch-type LSDs not helical gears like the Quaife. on the clutch type LSDs you do figure-8s until you go nuts!
