Reality check list; for 1500$ i have:

noticeable hotspots.. yep
colour variations across the beam.. yep
lower output.. yep

As far as the output goes it's a compromise between range and brightness. I have mine slightly dipped and output is great, but range leaves something to be desired. it would also appear my left hl produces about 3 feet shorter beam than the right.

umm right...

what is your set up evil? and why do you say, " lower output.. yep" then say, "output is great" 1 line later?

I have Z-max 7000k which has less lumens than 4100k HID's and I still have unbelievable output, no color variations that I can see, and my range is insane! I can't wait to do a projector retrofit to focus the beam. My only complaint is simply that I used to blind people before I lowered them...

So that chart is a guide to the best projectors set up.

Thanks Deezo. Hopefully, people will start doing more retrofits themselves and the HOW2 will become common knowledge.

Did you even read my post? Output on stock aim is poor. To increase it, you need to dip the light down, which lowers your range.

How exactly does that INCREASE the output??

This doesnt help in any way of explaining your first post.

Anyways, for $400, I have 5x the amount of light. I have little or no glare coming from my headlight, and it looks damn sexy.

Agreed BlueC. Your projectors are sick. Where are your pics of the beam patterns? Maybe that will convince evil roads victim.

you are focusing the output in a smaller area since the beam is shooting with more of a downward angle. It does not increase the actual lumens, it makes it appear brighter on the ground.

As far as the output goes it's a compromise between range and brightness
When you get the lights, then come back and tell me not so. Meanwhile, enjoy your illegal kits and projectors (which i will eventually do since that's the only way to get a great focus, spread and output).

^^^^

Explain your "$1500" setup. Thats where im confused. Projectors, yes technically illegal when retrofitted, produce more useable light. I think they are perfectly fine, they dont give the glare alot of other cars do. Not to mention, it reflects extremly well on road markings (when using HID projectors), so you dont even need to aim them that high.

I was talking about his kit. Yes, yours is illegal too but not like i care. Thing is you are both talking about something you have no clue about.

It's cheaper if you don't do a retrofit with courtesy parts....

Parts on EBAY or HIDTECH in NYC or Deepak in Montreal and then make it yourself for about 500-700 bucks.

MOST EXPENSIVE way from HIDTECH:

300 custom retrofit labor cost
100 "expert" wiring of bi-xenons
450 for:2 Hella ECE spec D2S projector, 2 Hella generation III ballasts.

2 Philips 85122 D2S HID bulbs (4300K).

50 for plug and play harness

TOTAL: $900

NOTE: IF you do it yourself you're talking $600 and if you use cheaper projectors its less.

honestly one can find everything they need for less than $500, I bought mine $90 for x5 oem projectors, $275 for oem Hella Gen 2 ballast and Phillips 4200k bulb, misc parts $30, my setup cost me less then $400 (more for valeo projectors or bi xenon projectors),
o heres some beam patterns:
Cutoff line:

Look at where the light hits the wall and how far away that is, our stock headlight will never reach that far...

Light output on wet roads...

OEM is impossible to get when Nissan never made anything like this for our year's maxima, therefore we have to use other companies "oem" parts like BWM, Audi etc... If u really want some "oem" projectors then retrofit some 6th gen projectors in ur car, called them nissan "oem" parts and be happy...

All of my parts are OEM, not nissan OEM, but they are higher quality imo.

You obviously did it the hard way, for $1500 you really should have look towards projectors. HIDs + Reflectors are really not that great together. There is way to much glare from them. You could have gone through www.hidtech.com and payed them $300 or $400 to do them for you. It would have resulted in a much better beam pattern, no glare, and more money in the pocket.
