Reinstalled gauge cluster and now odometer doesn't work!

Well, Patrick and I finally finished up the gauge cluster, but upon driving home I realized that neither the odometer or the trip odo. works. The cluster worked perfectly yesterday, but today we put in two red 194's and fixed some wiring that crossed the dimmer. We didn't go into the cluster besides the bulb change. Patrick and I were wondering if the odo is on the same circuit as the speedometer, because the speedo still works fine. Patrick said he will come into the thread soon and go into greater detail as to exactly what he did. Post away....

UPDATE- Odometer works, but sporadically. It works for a little...then stops...then works again. I'm guessing it's a loose connection. Also, the speedo needle acts like it's sticking. It basically jumps when accelerating and isn't smooth. What would be causing this? The LED needles were installed by Import Intelligence, so I doubt they were installed incorrectly......

Call II about the needle issue- they may try to tell you that it was an F-ed up gauge to begin with . I can look it over one weekend, but not this coming weekend.

Nick- any update? Tell me this- does the odo failure correlate to the times when the speedo does not work?

To be honest, I can't remember if they correlate, but it very well may. It all was working fine yesterday...so who knows what's going on.

I am about to order my new clutch- 4th Gen OEM with a 5th Gen Pressure Plate.

Hey man, you tell me what you want to pay, and it's cool with me.

Why the 5th gen PP? How much does a real OEM clutch cost? Where are you getting it from?

Dave B the parts guy. The 5th gen PP because it is thicker and can handle abotu 50 more HP than the 4th gen, but it actually costs less. the specs and a fit-test show that it should match up. I am ordering the 4th and 5th gen PPs, and will return the one that does not fit.

It is $186 for the OEM 4th gen, $177 for the OEM 4th gen substituting the 5th gen PP, and $143/134 for the Key Value version of both.

Sounds like a good time and good price. I wish I had gotten the 5th gen PP....Do you plan on taking advantage of the extra power handling?

No, but it should be more reliable and durable at my current setup.

The gauges and needles went out for a while yesterday, but then came on again later. What gives?

That was those wire taps that we had to use. I did not want to cut the stock wiring, but I don't want you to have continude issues with this. I can fix it, but I was hoping to not have to resort to actually cutting the wires.
