Almost died tonight, thanks to a pothole and a cracked rim *PICS*
Dude good luck I will tell you from experience it is going to take you a long time to get paid. Also you should have dialed 311 and there you fill the claim. They will send you some forms to fill out and you have to send them back with pictures of the rims as well (which you have). You get a letter back saying they recieved your stuff and it is under review and may take a year before anything happens.
Anyway good luck.

Seems like that wheel is an EVO Lightning? That may have a lot to do with the extent of the damage. Most rims might have been dented, but not cracked all the way around.
I would check your control arm, steering rack, and subframe. Might have bent those too.

JEBUS! thats nasty, only time ive seen somthing like that in person was on a jeep that landed on a rock sideways back in the bush. Thats insane a pothole could do that much damage! I dont even remember the last time I saw a pothole.. letalone one that could do that, one more reason i'll never pay money to go to NY.
Hes cut money on everything. Potholes have always been a problem in spring right after the salt and water freezing and creating potholes... so now in the summer time they're not out there as much.
But yea its the $$$ issue.

No, potholes really are like that here in the city. Theres one on the upper level in the center lane of the Verazanno Bridge going towards Staten Island, after you pass the second tower, its a huge crater, I fell in it once and my fuse cover fell off onto my legs.Like I said in a previous post, I bent and cracked one of my rims about a month ago here in the city too... lowered cars + rims do not belong here in the city.
After going back to the site where it happened I saw that the hole (which is now all patched up) had to of been bigger than a basketball at least. I'm not going to give an accurate size, because I don't know. But the patch is about 6 feet long and 2-3 feet side, so who knows. Also, where the pothole was and where I stopped was only about 100 feet, and I moved about 20 feet to the right. So that's how fast I stopped.
